The start of the PCIA’s biennial forum in Lima is a great opportunity for us at The Charcoal Project to share our own news.
But sharing everything at once would be like drinking from a fire-hose, so we’ll be gentle and use a regular garden hose instead.
Immediately, though, it gives us great pleasure to know you are reading this post on our spanking new redesigned site! What do you think? Nice, huh? Congratulations go out to Christina Lutters, our Chief Information Officer for making our site rock! Thanks, Christina!
So, what makes us so website-proud are:
- A cleaner layout: we’ve tidied up our navigation and side bars, included a map of the site via the footer, and slightly tweaked the overall page design to make reading, sharing, and finding information easier and faster
- Improved search functionality: more accurate search results mean you can find info on energy topics that matter to you
- Ability to add comments directly below posts: let your voice be heard loud and strong!
- Improved Resources: find info by world region, topic, or organization. Removal of our old cumbersome drop downs mean you can even use “Control F” for quick page searches by keyword.
- Meet our friends: we now share lists of orgs we follow and admire within the realm of energy efficiency. Check them out in the right column on the homepage.
- Curious about our current work? Our dedicated staff? Want to get involved? You can now learn more within our revised Who We Are and What We Do pages.
- More content: we now have several new writers supplying fresh content for the site. And if you are still hungry for more, follow us on Twitter for daily updates or join our Facebook family.
- Social Web Connected: easily share each post with friends via FB, Twitter, Email, and a myriad of other tools.
Looking ahead, our plans for 2011-2012 are to double down on our online work by increasing our social media presence and improving our digital services. Why? Because we believe that taking full advantage of the opportunities that are opening up every day across the rapidly changing digital media landscape remains one of the best ways to support our mission.
So, sit back, grab a snack and hit that refresh button again!
